Alex Fourie is an inspiration to all. Alex was in Ukraine with a cleft lip, cleft palate, and one arm which were a direct result of the world’s worst nuclear disaster at Chernobyl. Alex spent the first seven years of his life bouncing from orphanage to orphanage until he was adopted by a South African couple who were studying in Montgomery, AL. Alex’s organization “Single Hand Golf” has created a t-shirt that will be sold online and 100 percent of the proceeds will go to the charitable foundation, Hope Now, the organization responsible for his adoption. To date, Alex has donated over $10,000 to Hope Now. But that is only half of Alex’s story……
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) – “Sink, siiink,” Alex Fourie pleaded to the ball as it rolled past the hole on the 18th. He immediately threw his head back, by the time it had returned to its upright position a cheeky smile had made its way across his face. He shrugged then went to retrieve the ball and give it another go.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — An East Tennessee man has a very personal reason for trying to help orphans in Ukraine.

Alex Fourie lives in Tennessee, but he wasn’t born here.

Alex Fourie weighed 34 ½ pounds when he came to America at the age of 7.

"The only thing we really ate was soup," said Fourie, "and it's really hard to eat soup with a hole in your mouth."
